THE BEAUTY OF
SIERRA MADRE

Our group, #ProtectSierraMadre, aims to create several online sources, and online petition with the goal of spreading awareness on what is happening to Sierra Madre Mountain Ranges, and it's importance on preventing floods, and other devastating effects if typhoons. Our goal is also to spread awareness to preserve Sierra Madre's biodiversity, and stop illegal logging, deforestation, mining, and quarrying in the area.

ACTIVITIES
There are different activities that affects Sierra Madre, the following activities are the main reasons on why Luzon's "shield" is slowly getting endangered with the effects that they do not only on Sierra Madre but in other aspects as well. Note that our group focuses on ILLEGAL MINING.

Illegal Mining
water pollution, deforestation, poor soil fertility and limited access to land for agriculture productivity.

Illegal Logging
deforestation, the loss of biodiversity and the emission of greenhouse gases.

Deforestation
loss of biodiversity, damage to natural habitats, disturbances in the water cycle, and soil erosion.
04
Quarrying
oil erosion, pollution, siltation and the flooding of downstream bodies and areas.
